Tucked into some far nook of the Finnish coast, past a tall snowy mountain range, you will find a valley covered in sweet-smelling wildflowers. This is Moominvalley. It's a wonderful place, full of adventures and friends to have them with, and you'll almost always be home in time for supper . . .

My friend Mary is a huge fan of the Moomins; for her birthday last October, I wrote her this homebrew so we could create our own adventures in this fantastical world. We've both fallen in love with the simplicity of life in Moominvalley, with its emphasis on emotional health, honest work, and personal connections. 

I wanted to capture this feeling with the gameplay, which is why the combat system has been largely stripped and re-purposed to focus on mental and emotional health. This is intended to be a calming and connecting experience, but there's still room to have fun and get creative!

This is a D&D 5e homebrew, meaning that it is powered by the Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition system. Knowledge of this system is required to play, but if you haven't used this system before, it's pretty easy to get started with the tools found at DnDBeyond.
